Search & Seizure
With drug offenses, if the police find a person in possession of large amounts of cash, generally $1,000 or more, they may seize that cash. Law enforcement, especially federal agents, may also seize cars, real estate, and other personal property. Often an attorney can recover some or all of the seized property.
Do not write off seized property, even if you are guilty of another crime related to the seizure.
